Purples, silvers, blacks, Grey's, turquoises, teals and greens. Dark blue also looks awesome.


I wore a purple smokey eye with some black on the outer corners and it flattered me (I have brown eyes) so well it was unbelievable.





If you have an extra $34 you're willing to spend, buy the Kat von D Beethoven eyeshadow palette. It has 8 eyeshadows (if you think about it, 8 excellent quality shadows for $34 is a pretty good deal!) and all the colors suit brown eyes SO well.


If not, just buy a couple dark purples, greens and blues as well as a black for outer corners and neutral colors for inner corners. Silver and white also look nice too.

Generally to make them look lighter you have to be in a different light. If you have a lighter shade IN your eyes, you may be able to draw it out more by putting a similar shade of liner/shadow on. But for makeup, I would recommend purple-ish or green eyeshadow with brown or dark purple liner. I only use black mascara so I don't know what to tell you on that one.
Purple is universally flattering, and greens will pick up whatever flecks of hazel/green might be in your eyes. Greys are also good neutrals for everyday, as well as golds. Physician's Formula makes a good, cheap grey pallette. To make your eyes lighter, try a gold liner.





My personal favorites are Graffiti and Fishnet shadows by Urban Decay. I'd just stick with lining my eyes with those colors: like, wet a smudge brush and make a medium line across your top lashline. I also have brown/hazel eyes, and love Smashbox's Bionic Mascara in Black Violet. It looks black, but in the sun, you can see the purple sheen to it. Plus Napoleon just came out with several color mascaras too, like green (for special occasions).

or purple and blue and turqouise and some shades of green look good if u want a more woowwww look:)

Eyeliner i would use black or dark brown, and mascara...probably black with your darker eyes.

for a wam baow look use bright blue eyeliner with a silver or light blue eyeshadow and black mascara
Fresh, bright colours would make your eyes ';pop';.


There's a reason why brown eyes are beauties... anything suits them.

Brown eyes can get away with any colour. Co-ordinate your shadow with your outfit.
go to a store like macys and ask if they can give you a new makeup look that bring out your eyes and makes them look lighter. my friend did this and she looked amazing!
